Jaya Sarathi Hall – the Second Floor of Sri Mahaperiyava Sharanalayam
The second floor of Sri Mahaperiyava Sharanalayam houses the Jaya Sarathi Hall, a sacred space named in honour of Sri GR Mama’s revered parents, Smt. Jayalakshmi and Sri Parthasarathi. This concert hall radiates a divine aura, as it comes alive with spiritual discourses, Namasankeerthan and musical concerts throughout the year. It is a space dedicated to Satsang, reflecting Mama’s strong belief that such gatherings bring asthikas together, help them recharge their inner spirit and guide them on their spiritual journey.

A beautiful marble idol of Goddess Kamakshi graces the hall exuding divine energy. Draped in a vibrant green saree, She appears as though She herself is lost in the bliss of the ongoing Satsang, blessing all those who gather in devotion. Adding to the hall’s spiritual grandeur are the magnificent Tanjore paintings of Goddess Saraswati and Sri Sri Mahaperiyava. The hall also holds a cherished portrait of GR Mama’s beloved parents whom he deeply respects and honours.
Near the cherished portrait of his parents, GR Mama has inscribed a beautiful Tamil verse: “மீண்டும் கிடைக்குமா ஒரு கர்ப வாசம் உங்கள் மணி வயிற்றில்?”
This line beautifully captures the essence of a mother’s nurturing love throughout one’s life.
In deep reverence for his parents, GR Mama maintains a daily ritual of offering neivedhyam and heartfelt namaskarams to them, no matter where he is. Through this gesture and the timeless verse, Mama invites us to rediscover the eternal love of parents.
Mama harbours a profound longing for his parents. Perhaps influenced by this, he extends a motherly love to every person he meets. If given another birth, he would choose to be born to the same parents, such is his infinite love and deep respect for them. Through GR Mama, Sri Mahaperiyava’s legacy continues to inspire fostering a space where devotion, wisdom and divine grace flow endlessly enriching the spiritual lives of all who enter Sri Mahaperiyava Sharanalayam. Don’t miss the artistic door at the entrance, exquisitely adorned with musical instruments and Bharatnatyam mudras symbolising the divine connection between music, dance and spirituality. This beautifully crafted doorway sets the perfect tone for the divine experiences that unfold in the hall.
