EKADASI
Ekadasi and the Significance of Salagrama Puja at Mahaperiyava Sharanalayam
Ekadasi, the most auspicious day dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is a time for spiritual upliftment, fasting, and devotion. Observing Ekadasi with sincerity is believed to cleanse past karmas and bring divine blessings.
At Sri Mahaperiyava Sharanalayam, Ekadasi is marked by the sacred Salagrama Puja, a powerful ritual invoking the grace of Lord Vishnu. The Abhishekam and Archana are performed to the Salagrama stones, revered as the living form of Vishnu. This Salagrama Puja is performed in the morning around 9 AM, allowing devotees to experience the spiritual vibrations of this sacred offering.
GR Mama often emphasizes that Mahaperiyava is both Hari and Hara, embodying the divine essence of both Vishnu and Shiva. Hence, at Sharanalayam, both Pradosham and Ekadasi are observed with great reverence, with special pujas performed on both occasions.
